Watford chief Gino Pozzo confirms interest in Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Davide Santon

Watford are interested in West Ham United-linked Zdravko Kuzmanovic and former Newcastle United defender Davide Santon.

Watford owner Gino Pozzo has told Fcinternews.it that the club are in negotiations over the signings of Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Davide Santon.

Serbia international midfielder Kuzmanovic and Italy international full-back Santon both are on the books of Italian club Inter Milan at the moment.

“At the moment I cannot go too far one way or the other, but I can say that talks are in full swing and negotiations continue,” Pozzo told Fcinternews.it, as translated by Football Italia.

“Are the two players intent on saying no to Watford? I am confident we can change their minds. I remain optimistic and always will be.”

Zdravko Kuzmanovic

Kuzmanovic has been at Inter since 2013, but it seems that Watford are keen on signing him this summer in order to enhance the quality of their squad for the upcoming 2015-16 Premier League campaign.

The 27-year-old featured in just 14 Serie A games for Inter last season, creating 20 chances in the process.

The former Fiorentina star had a pass accuracy of 91% and a shot accuracy of 25%, and won 14 headers, six dribbles and 12 tackles.

Interestingly, Watford’s Premier League rivals West Ham United are also reported to be interested in the services of Kuzmanovic.

According to a report in La Gazzetta dello Sport earlier this month, the Hammers want to sign the former VfB Stuttgart midfielder.

Davide Santon

Former Newcastle United full-back Santon recently stated on his official Facebook page that he wants to remain at Inter, but it seems that Watford remain keen on his services.

One suspects that it will eventually come to Inter and what they want to do regarding the future of the 24-year-old.

If the Italian club want Santon to leave, then the player will not be able to do anything about it.
