Indeed, Liverpool icon Souness was player manager at Rangers between 1986 and 1991 and Dicks, at Birmingham City at the time, says he almost signed for the Gers all those years ago.
Dicks' chairman said no, however, and that was the end of that.
The current West Ham Ladies coach made his name as a tough, no-nonsense defender and is best known for his time with the Hammers.
Had the now 46-year-old moved to Rangers at the time, though, he may not have gone on to enjoy his numerous years at the east London side.
Dicks moved from Birmingham to West Ham for his first spell at Upton Park. How different would his career have been had he joined Rangers instead of linking up with the Hammers?

@JULIAN3DICKS you ever get the chance to play in Scotland? Any Clubs you nearly signed for?— Mike Stewart (@2c659cbf436045a) June 25, 2015
Dicks took to Twitter with the update in response to a follower, while also giving a non-committal response when asked about Dimitri Payet, as well as whether he could work with Slaven Bilic as a defensive coach.
