Manchester United transfer news: Sergio Ramos latest and Nainggolan blow

A select round-up of the latest transfer news relating to Manchester United

According to the Independent, Manchester United are pushing to sign Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos this summer.

The Spanish international has played 445 times for the La Liga club and remains vital to them, but the Independent now claims that he could leave the Bernabeu this summer, and that United is his preferred destination if he does so.

The report goes on to suggest that United could get Ramos in exchange for David de Gea, although Real may request cash as well as the goalkeeper, whose contract situation at Old Trafford means he could leave for free in just 12 months.

United certainly need quality defensive reinforcements, but it remains to be seen if these latest Ramos rumours hold weight.

In other news, the Daily Mail reports that United target Radja Nainggolan will only leave AS Roma this summer for Real.

The Belgian international is said to be on United’s radar but comments from the player’s agent have suggested that only an offer from the La Liga club would tempt him at this time.
