Report: Recently promoted Italian second tier side want Leeds United flop Edgar Cani

The Albanian was a poor signing from Leeds back in February.

Most Leeds United fans will be wondering why on earth anyone would want to sign Edgar Cani. The Catania striker joined the club in February but looked far off a top signing for the club.

He played just three times for Leeds and never scored, or looked like scoring a goal for the club.

His performances were poor and most Leeds fans were wondering why Massimo Cellino decided to bring the Albanian to the club.

He was then one of the 'sicknote six'. He, along with fellow Cellino signings Mirco Antenucci, Giuseppe Bellusci, Souleymane Doukara, Dario Del Fabro and Marco Silvestri all pulled out of the Leeds squad for the game against Charlton Athletic on April. None of them played for the club again last season.

Not that Leeds fans minded in the case of Cani.

Now the gangly striker does actually have a serious suitor.

It is reported by Tutto Mercato Web that recently promoted outfit US Salernitana want to bring him to Salerno.

They were promoted from the Italian third tier last season, after winning the Lega Pro C last season.

Now Salernitana are likely to be hoping for survival in Serie B - which makes you wonder why they want Cani at the club.
