Demba Ba backs Slaven Bilic’s appointment at West Ham

Demba Ba believes Slaven Bilic is a ‘very good’ appointment for West Ham.

Speaking to World Soccer, former West Ham striker Ba backed Bilic at the Boleyn Ground, explaining why he was such an admired coach at Besiktas.

Ba said: “The Besiktas fans took to him because they appreciated his passion. He is very enthusiastic and demands 100% from his players. He has experience of the English game from his time. In my opinion he is a very good choice.”

Ba, who has played for West Ham before, has been linked with a return to the Boleyn ground following Bilic’s appointment, as per the Sun.

He excelled under the Croatian boss whilst the duo were with Besiktas, and has a proven Premier League record, making him a wise transfer, even if he is now 30-years-old.

Ba clearly thinks that Bilic will be a success in England, and the reasons he highlights are the same many believe will make the former defender a good manager for the Hammers.

He is passionate, understands the ‘West Ham Way’, and demands his players give their all whilst on the pitch.

These are traits which will endear him to the fans, and it was clear before his appointment that he was already a big favourite to be named manager.

Although there are still doubts about his management ability, having yet to truly impress in a top level league, he looks to have all the abilities to be a success at the Boleyn Ground.
