New Leeds signing Charlie Horton wants to help the club back to the top

Charlie Horton has taken to social media after signing for Leeds United.

Leeds United’s newest signing Charlie Horton has taken to Twitter to send a message to the club’s fans.

The 20-year-old has agreed a two-year deal at Elland Road, becoming manager Uwe Rosler’s first signing since he replaced Neil Redfearn last month, and he will have put a smile on Leeds fans’ faces with his latest message on social media.

“I am delighted to agree terms with Leeds on a two-year deal and become part of such a proud and historic club,” the youngster wrote.

“I can’t wait to get started in pre-season with the lads and coaching staff and become part of something special: Getting this club back where it belongs.”

If Horton wanted to endear himself to the Elland Road faithful from the outset he could not have gone about it a better way, and it will be interesting to see how the player develops in his initial two years at the club.

Leeds saw both Stuart Taylor and Alex Cairns leave at the end of last season and although he will have a challenge to usurp Marco Silvestri as the club’s number one that is likely to be the ultimate aim.

Horton is a current USA under-23 international and he has previously been on the books of both Peterborough United and Cardiff City.
