Leeds United target Sol Bamba linked with Middlesbrough move

Palermo-owned Leeds United target Sol Bamba is reportedly on Middlesbrough’s radar.

Middlesbrough are interested in Leeds United target Sol Bamba, according to The Yorkshire Evening Post.

It has been reported that the defender’s agent has been “in touch with Middlesbrough” about a move to the Riverside Stadium in the summer transfer window.

This follows Bamba’s rejection of an initial offer made by Leeds, as reported by HITC Sport last month.

The Yorkshire Evening Post subsequently claimed that the Whites are still interested in signing the centre-back from Palermo on a permanent contract.

However, it now appears that the West Yorkshire outfit will find it tough, as Middlesbrough have allegedly come into the picture.

Boro, who reached the Championship playoff final in the recently concluded 2014-15 campaign, are more attractive than Leeds at the moment.

Aitor Karanka’s side will be pushing for automatic promotion to the Premier League next season, while Leeds could struggle to even make the playoffs.

Former Paris Saint-Germain defender Bamba, who joined Leeds on loan from Palermo in the January transfer window, scored one goal and created one chance in 19 Championship appearances, and had a pass accuracy of 71% and a shot accuracy of 33%.
