Southampton fans have been left largely disappointed by the club's decision to allow Artur Boruc's contract to expire.
Southampton opted not to offer Boruc a new deal at St. Mary's, allowing the Polish goalkeeper to sign for newly-promoted Bournemouth.
His loan spell showed the class that he still has and many Southampton fans are disappointed to see him depart.
Although Boruc was never likely to be Southampton's first choice any time soon, he would have provided depth in a position where they have lacked cover.
The Saints have struggled to replace Fraser Forster since he got injured - with Paulo Gazzaniga and Kelvin Davis both looking out of their depth when called upon.
Boruc, though, would have provided sufficient back-up in the minds of most Southampton fans, had he been given the chance to stay.
As it is, he will be hoping to continue to impress at Bournemouth, and most Southampton supporters have wished him well.
Here is the best reaction from Saints fans on social media site Twitter to Boruc's departure.
Sad to see Boruc go. Focus was always on the Arsenal cruyff turn/Begovic, but never on how many points he won for #SaintsFC with his saves.— George Galpin (@GGalpin95) May 26, 2015
Good Luck to Artur Boruc ... Always rated him as a quality keeper ..and he deserves to be playing in the Premier League ... #saintsfc— Glen (@Glen_NR33) May 26, 2015
Loved Artur Boruc at #SaintsFC. Will always remember that last minute penalty save at Norwich.— Ben McQuaide (@Ben_McQuaide97) May 26, 2015
Strange decision to let Boruc go permanently. We need a replacement keeper for next season and he's good enough for it. #saintsfc— Chaza (@cpriormills) May 26, 2015
Sad to see Artur Boruc leave. We now need a top 'keeper with Forster on treatment table. Schneiderlin situation'll be interesting #saintsfc— Joseph Richardson (@Jj147Joseph) May 26, 2015
