Daniel Sturridge posts photo from hospital bed after undergoing hip operation

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has undergone a successful hip operation.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has taken to social networking site Instagram to give an update on his injury situation.

The 25-year-old has been struggling with injuries throughout the season and underwent an operation on his hip this week.

According to BBC Sport, the England international striker flew to the USA late last month for the operation.

Sturridge has now taken to Instagram to let the Liverpool fans know that everything has gone well.

Former Chelsea and Manchester City striker Sturridge is a key member of the current Liverpool team, but he has been unable to contribute much to the side this campaign.

The Englishman has played just twice since he picked up the hip injury in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on March 22.

Sturridge suffered a thigh strain on international duty with England in September, before picking up a calf problem in training in October.

The Liverpool striker has scored four goals and created 11 chances in 12 Premier League appearances so far this season, while having a pass accuracy of 79% and a shot accuracy of 44%.
