Former Liverpool defender John Arne Riise has taken to social networking site Twitter to sing the praises of Celtic midfielder Stefan Johansen.
Johansen is one of the best players in the current Celtic squad and is one of the best midfielders in the Scottish Premiership.
The 24-year-old Norway international has been a key figure in the Bhoys’ Premiership triumph this season, having moved to the Glasgow giants from Stromsgodset in January 2014.
Johansen was voted the PFA Scottish Player of the Year on Sunday for his astounding performances this campaign, following which fellow Norwegian Riise posted the following message to him on Twitter.
Big congrats to @stefanjohansen being voted Scottish player of the year! Well deserved. Great player— John Arne Riise (@JARiiseOfficial) May 3, 2015
Riise, now 34 and at Cypriot club APOEL, is one of the greatest players Norway has ever produced, making his name at Liverpool before going on to play for Italian club AS Roma.
During his time at the Reds, the left-back won the FA Cup and the Champions League once each, and his high praise of Johansen shows just how good a player the Celtic midfielder is.
