Newcastle's potential three-man shortlist as they reportedly hunt striking additions, including Ings and Remy

Why take a look at three players who would make good additions for Newcastle United this summer.

According to the Chronicle, Newcastle United are looking to complete the signings of three strikers this summer.

The Magpies are determined to add quality to their squad and feel that enhancing their attacking options is the most pressing priority.

In this piece we take a look at three potential options for Newcastle, as they embark on the hunt for an entirely new strike force.

Danny Ings (Burnley)

Ings looks to have the potential to be one of the bargain buys of the summer, with the striker's current deal at Burnley expiring at the end of the season.

Ings will be free to look for a new club and Newcastle should already be plotting to bring the highly-rated frontman in.

The 23-year-old has shown in his first season in top-flight football that he is capable of starring in the Premier League and he would be an excellent addition for Newcastle.

Ings has been forced to feed on scraps at times for Burnley this term, but his return of nine goals is still a respectable one and Newcastle would look a much more dangerous team with him in their line-up.

Loic Remy (Chelsea)

Newcastle need to find a way of getting their disgruntled fan-base back on side and the signing of Remy would go some way to showing that they retain ambition in the transfer market.

The French striker was a huge hit while on loan at Newcastle last season from Queens Park Rangers, and he is still fondly remembered at St. James' Park.

He has barely played at Chelsea since moving to Stamford Bridge last summer and Newcastle would be well served to at least enquire as to the possibility of bringing the clinical striker back to Tyneside.

Callum Wilson (Bournemouth)

Wilson has torn up the Championship this season with his pace and power proving too much for defences to cope with.

The youngster has scored 23 times across the season and his form has been a major reason why the Cherries have promotion to the Premier League all-but wrapped up.

Bournemouth would, understandably, be reluctant to lose the striker, but if Newcastle were prepared to invest, they may be able secure his services.

Wilson would make a superb addition to the Newcastle squad - as a signing for the present and future - and would likely relish the opportunity to test himself against the best in the business.
