Crystal Palace are close to moving into the top 10 of the Premier League table.

Speaking to the Shields Gazette, Pardew highlighted the real benefit of the Eagles securing a likely top 10 finish in the Premier League.

The Palace favourite said: “All our players are going to be looked at in a kinder manner, or through a different lens to how they’ve been looked at – and so they should be.”

Pardew’s words are in relation to the international recognition many of Crystal Palace’s players currently receive, which he believes will increase when they secure a finish in the top half of the table to make themselves a real Premier League force.

Currently, the Eagles can names the likes of Mile Jedinak, Yannick Bolasie and James McArthy as consistent internationals, whilst Wilfried Zaha has formerly been capped for England.

However, it is hard to see many of their high-performing players ever make the step up to senior internationals whilst Palace are considered a small Premier League club. Despite Zaha’s good performances he has missed out on recent call-ups for England, whilst Scott Dann and Joel Ward are two players many consider as good enough for the Three Lions.

It is a well held opinion that England bosses favour players from the bigger clubs in the Premier League, and it is why a number of under performing stars continue to be called-up.

If Palace do secure their status as one of the clubs fighting at the upper end of the Premier League table, it is likely that the FA will take note, and it may not be too long before the likes of Dann, Ward and Zaha are all wearing the white shirt of England.
