The Barcelona forward has hinted that he will not be available for Barcelona’s trip to Celta Vigo and is still in pain.
Lionel Messi is a doubt for Barcelona’s trip to Celta Vigo this weekend, with South American star revealing on Facebook that he is still in pain due to a swollen foot.
The 27-year-old did not feature in Argentina’s international friendly clashes against Ecuador or El Salvador due to these fitness concerns and is seemingly likely to be on the treatment table for the foreseeable future.
Although Barcelona have revealed in a statement that Messi is fine, the four-time Ballon d’Or winner has taken to his Facebook page to update his fans on his well-being.

Messi has been a key reason for Barcelona’s three-pronged assault for silverware this season, with the Argentine star playing some of the most scintillating football of his career since the turn of the year.
The Barcelona star has scored in each of his side’s last five away games in La Liga and tops the goalscoring charts in the Spanish top flight.
However, with it looking increasingly likely that Messi will have to sit out the trip to Celta, the focus will be on Luis Suarez and Neymar to fire Luis Emrique’s men to three points.
