Former Rangers star Vladimir Weiss congratulates club on Hibernian win

The Slovakian was pleased to see his former team winning a crunch game today.

Rangers picked up a massive win today in their battle for a return to the Scottish Premiership, defeating promotion rivals Hibernian in Edinburgh.

Goals from Lee Wallace and Kenny Miller did the trick for the side, who now move within three points of Hibs in second spot and cement their place in the promotion play-off spots.

The result also handed promotion to Hearts as early as March, quite impressive.

Rangers were in the midst of a disappointing run of form amid off-field troubles coming into this match so there were plenty of those that felt Hibs would take victory today, however Rangers stood tall and were good value for their win.

The result did not go unnoticed on Twitter. One former Rangers player Tweeted this message after the game, proclaiming his happiness that Rangers had picked up such an important and impressive victory.

Vladimir Weiss currently plays with the likes of Chico Flores under the management of Michael Laudrup for Qatari side Lekhwiya. He spent the 2010-11 season on loan at Ibrox from Manchester City – playing 35 times and winning the Scottish title and League Cup trophy.

And it certainly seems he has not forgotten about his excellent stint at the club.
