Tottenham Hotspur morning round-up: Danish legend makes claim over Christian Eriksen

A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

Martin Laursen has told talkSPORT that he feels Christian Eriksen is playing the best football of his career.

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has been in fine form for the club, getting them out of jail frequently over the course of this season.

“We’re all very glad for that. We can see that he’s a great player and now he is playing the best football of his career. He’s got a really good future ahead of him.”

The challenge for Eriksen is to maintain his performance levels over the rest of the Premier League season.

West Ham United midfielder Stewart Downing has told the Daily Mirror that he thinks Tottenham are no better than the Hammers in the race for Europe.

The winger feels West Ham have a great chance of securing European football for next season, with Tottenham also fighting for a top four place.

“We owe Tottenham one, after they beat us in the last minute on the opening day of the season, and I don’t accept they’re going to finish above us,” said Downing.

Spurs currently hold the superior league position over the East London side.

The Daily Mail has reported that Tottenham youngster Kaziah Sterling has scored his first international goal.

He scored England’s only goal of the game for the under-17 side in a 1-1 draw against Portugal.

The result came after a disappointing performance where the side were beaten 7-0 at the hands of the Netherlands.
