Players’ activity will contribute to a Faction Wars mode which will yield rewards.

Another new trailer has been released for NetherRealm Studios Mortal Kombat X, but this time it’s not another character reveal. Instead it talks about the new ‘Faction Wars’ aswell as the challenge towers.

Taking a trip down memory lane at first, by showing a glimpse of the old arcade machines and the devs talking of their memories of the franchise, the video then moves onto details of MKX.

The Faction Wars will ask players to choose a faction when playing, which adds the activities they do in-game into their chosen factions points. Each week rewards will be granted to the faction that gathers the most points. The mode looks really fun and dynamic, with random events popping up, challenging players every week.

Check out the new trailer below, which shows off plenty of in-game footage, and gives dev insights into more game details.

Mortal Kombat X is due for release on 14th April 2015 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
