Southampton published a sight for sore eyes on their Twitter account as Victor Wanyama and Morgan Schneiderlin hit the training field after injury.
Both midfielders are vital to Southampton’s cause and their return will only strengthen one of the most impressive areas of Ronald Koeman’s team.
Schneiderlin has been suffering with a thigh problem, while Wanyama returns to action after a hamstring issue.
It will be tempting for Koeman to get them both back into the first team as quickly as possible, though he can’t take any risks, which might increase the chances of a problem recurring at a later point.
Wanyama adds strength and quality in front of the back four while Schneiderlin has blossomed into arguably one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the Premier League, with three goals in the league which is a tally he will be looking to improve on.
The Saints are in great shape to finish in the Premier League’s top four by the end of the campaign and the return of the duo will only enhance the club’s chances of securing Champions League qualification.
