Rangers fans react on Twitter to Ian Black's performance v Celtic

Rangers fans were rather disappointed with the midfielder's display against Celtic in the Scottish League Cup semi-final.

Needless to say, Sunday was a disappointing day for Rangers fans.

The Scottish Championship side were comfortably beaten by Celtic in their League Cup semi-final at Hampden Park, as goals from Leigh Griffiths and Kris Commons gave the Bhoys a 2-0 win to take them through to the final.

And it wasn't so much the scoreline as the lack of fight from Rangers that had their supporters frustrated at full-time.

As some fans said on Twitter in the wake of the defeat, this was a game in which Rangers didn't expect much, especially with their on and off-pitch troubles of late.

Even then, however, some of their players appeared to have let them down badly against Celtic.

No one man is ever totally to blame for a loss - well, rarely - but Ian Black did a pretty good job of almost making that sentiment come true, according to Rangers fans (and neutrals alike).

The midfielder was criticised for his lack of spirit versus Celtic and failed to deliver up against opposition skipper Scott Brown.

In the end, despite having 47 per cent of possession, Rangers managed just one shot at Celtic's goal, according to BBC Sport. Black, meanwhile, came in for plenty of scrutiny on Twitter after the game.

Here's a selection of some of the reaction from Rangers fans on social media...
