PSG ace warns Chelsea ahead of Champions League clash

Paris Saint-Germain were drawn against Chelsea in the Champions League knockout stages for the second year running.

Paris Saint-Germain star Lucas Moura has warned Chelsea that his side are stronger than last year ahead of their upcoming Champions League clash, Le10sport report.

The two sides were drawn against each other in what will arguably be the most intriguing encounter in the Champions League last 16 knockout stage.

The current Premier League leaders have recent history with PSG, knocking them out on away goals at the quarter-final stage last season before selling them David Luiz for a monster fee in the summer.

The Blues boss Jose Mourinho stunned most when he told the club’s official website before the draw came out that he wanted another showdown with PSG – arguably the toughest opposition available.

Les Parisiens aren’t having the best of seasons domestically, yet that hasn’t knocked their confidence as Brazilian ace Moura warns the West Londoners that they are much stronger this season.

“Of course [we can advance], we are stronger than last season. We changed a little during the recent break, we know it’s difficult to be in first place [in Ligue 1],” he was quoted as saying by

“Against Chelsea, it will be difficult, they are playing well in this moment. Last season we were eliminated, but we know that anything can happen in football.”

Laurent Blanc’s side currently lie in third place in the French top flight, four points behind league leaders Olympique Lyonnais after 21 matches.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed last season’s second-leg clash at Stamford Bridge through injury, with the tie ultimately swinging in the Blues’ favour thanks to a late Demba Ba goal.
