Manchester United morning news: Van Gaal 'insisting' on signing, Cleverley wants exit

A round up of news stories this morning about Manchester United.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is reportedly ‘insisting’ on a deal for Mats Hummels.

The Borussia Dortmund centre back has been routinely linked with the club over the past couple of seasons.

He’s seen as a top quality, experienced figure who can come in and sure up the team’s backline.

Tom Cleverley will reportedly push for a move to Everton on loan.

The United owned midfielder has been playing with Aston Villa so far this season, but is reportedly keen on linking up with Roberto Martinez.

Cleverley will snub the offer of a long term deal at Villa Park to take the loan move, according to the Daily Star.

Falcao insists that he and his family are happy in Manchester, despite speculation over his future.

It’s unclear at the moment whether United are going to take a £43 million deal to make his loan deal permanent at the end of this season.

“My family are comfortable. We’re enjoying life in Manchester and here at the club. The people have been great with me, with my family. We’re happy and very grateful,” he’s quoted by the MEN.
