Tottenham may have to face a former West Ham star when they play Fiorentina in the Europa League.
Could a former West Ham fan favourite end Tottenham Hotspur's Europa League adventure?
That is a possibility currently on the table, with opponents Fiorentina exploring the possibility of signing 17-time capped Italian international Alessandro Diamanti.
Diamanti, 31, currently plays for Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande, but he is a wanted man this January.
Football Italia report: "The club from Florence have been linked to the former Bologna striker for several days now, but the Chinese club are seen to be blocking their assets.
"In spite of that, La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting today that La Viola are piling on the pressure to bring Diamanti back."
Guangzhou paid £6 million to sign Diamanti back in February, where Italian World Cup winning boss Marcelo Lippi is director of football.
The attacking midfielder has played 35 games for the club, scoring eight goals and delivering 13 assists.
It's a rate similar to his displays at West Ham where he scored eight goals and provided six assists in 30 matches in 2009/10, enough to see him voted second in a Player of the Year poll by fans behind Scott Parker but he was later sold to Brescia.
