Arsenal transfer news: Federico Valverde joins on trial; Tottenham close to sealing Adrien Rabiot deal

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are set to take a talented Uruguayan on trial this month, according to the player's current club. Uruguayan giants Penarol have commented that their talented player will spend a week or so training with the Arsenal under-21s this month.

Arsenal have had to agree a €4 million insurance fee to take him to London, meaning if he gets injured they will have to pay that fee to Penarol.

The attacking midfielder, 16, is a Uruguay under-17 international and Penarol released this statement on his impending period with the Premier League club:

"Penarol has no intention of selling its star to Arsenal or any other team. However, this club was so insistent that we accept to travel for a week."

Valverde arrives in England today to start his trial period from tomorrow, where he will be hoping to sufficiently impress the Arsenal team.

Former Arsenal target Adrien Radiot looks set to join Tottenham Hotspur this month. It is reported by the Daily Star that Spurs have agreed a deal which will see the controversial midfielder, who only signed a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain in October, make a move to North London.

Arsenal were heavily linked with Rabiot in the summer along with Italian side AS Roma, especially as his contract was due to expire next summer. However their interest died with his contract extension.
