Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny shows remarkable respect to Hull City

Laurent Koscielny looks ahead to Sunday’s FA Cup third-round tie between Arsenal and Hull City at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has shown remarkable respect to Hull City ahead of the two sides’ FA Cup third-round tie on Sunday.

The Gunners will host fellow Premier League outfit Hull in the prestigious cup competition in what will be a re-run of the final in May.

On that occasion, Arsenal had to come from two goals down to win it 3-2 after extra time, and Koscielny is aware of the danger the Tigers will pose at the Emirates Stadium this time around.

“I was very happy [to draw Hull again],” the 29-year-old centre-back told Arsenal’s official website. “If you want to win the FA Cup, you need to play against big teams.

“Last year we could see in the final that Hull City are a very impressive team with some good players. It’s a re-run of the final, so it will be a very important game for us.

“We want to win. We have some good memories against Hull City, and we will try to have the same after the game.”

Hull may be in the Premier League, but not many will consider them a ‘big team’, which makes it all the more remarkable that Koscielny takes them so seriously and shows them so much respect.
