Peter Lovenkrands believes that Frank de Boer would be a great appointment for Newcastle United.
A number of names has been mentioned in regard to a successor to the Englishman at St. James’ Park, and former Newcastle attacker Lovenkrands has thrown De Boer’s name into the mix.
The former Denmark international also seems to be willing to take up a position as De Boer’s assistant at Newcastle, although he is probably just joking.
As much as Lovenkrands and the Newcastle fans would like De Boer to take charge of Newcastle, it is unlikely that the Dutchman will do so, at least now.
The 44-year-old former Barcelona and Rangers star is currently the manager of Ajax, with whom he won the Eredivisie title four times in a row.
Maybe Newcastle could make an approach for him in the summer, but at the moment it would be an exercise in futility.
