Founder of Xbox Live leaves Microsoft

Boyd Multerer 1

Boyd Multerer announced his departure from Microsoft yesterday via Twitter.

Multerer helped to create the Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles, and was the founder of Xbox Live, being the first person on the network too.

The news comes after Multerer spent 17 years working at Microsoft, working his way up from initially doing contract work the company, to then being hired by them in 1997. He founded the Xbox Live dev team in 2000, and the network was then launched in 2002.

Thanks, GameSpot.
