Ex-Man United man Tim Howard reveals fear of Sir Alex’s hairdryer

The Everton stopper has revealed that dealing with a football manager is more daunting than speaking to Barack Obama.

Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has revealed that dealing with an irate football manager such as Sir Alex Ferguson or David Moyes is more daunting than speaking with the president of the United States.

The former Red Devils’ custodian spoke out in an interview about his experience of talking with Barack Obama, but feels that the brunt of a manager’s anger was much more frightening.

“Going into the dressing room [was more scary]. The president’s not going to yell at me. When David Moyes or Alex Ferguson yells at you, that’s the worst thing in the world,” the American stopper stated in an interview with The Sunday Times.

“You get a knock on your door from the team administrator: downstairs in five minutes, the president wants to call you, and off you go.

“You just try not to say anything stupid because forever you’ll be the guy who said something stupid to the president.”

Howard was on United’s books from 2003 to 2007, making 45 Premier League appearances before moving to Goodison Park.

The veteran goalkeeper has played in all of the Toffees’ 18 league games this season.
