Boxing Day is going to be a huge day for sides all over the Championship because it kicks off a busy festive schedule and also represents the next chance for teams up and down the division to secure vital points.
Bournemouth and Ipswich Town share the automatic promotion places up to the Premier League, with Eddie Howe’s team top of the pile at the moment. However, there are just four points between Bournemouth and Watford who occupy the last play-off position in the division.
In terms of the teams trying to break into the play-off places, Norwich City and Blackburn Rovers are the closest at the moment with Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers both chasing a seven point gap.
Brighton, Wigan and Blackpool all remain entrenched in a battle at the wrong end of the table, with the Tangerines the furthest away from safety as they look to make up for a 6-1 thumping at the hands of Bournemouth in their last game.
