'Has to start ahead of Stokes!' Celtic fans react on Twitter to Griffiths performance

The Bhoys forward impressed Celtic fans after coming on and scoring (as well as hitting the post) against Dundee United.

A disappointing defeat at Dundee United brought just one positive for Celtic on Sunday afternoon, it seems: the performance of Leigh Griffiths.

The 24-year-old forward was introduced in the 78th minute by boss Ronny Deila and scored before hitting the post late on, meaning the Bhoys almost came back from the dead after going two goals down.

In the end, Celtic lost 2-1 and had a number of things go against them on the day. But Griffiths almost changed all that and many fans want him to start for the Bhoys from now on.

John Guidetti and Anthony Stokes were both in Deila's starting line-up against United and supporters appear to want Stokes to be the man to make way for 24-year-old Griffiths.

The forward's star cameo at Dundee United caps a brilliant week for him, after he offered to buy a child who had been burgled a bunch of new video games for Christmas - and scored a double for Celtic's developmental side at Sunderland in midweek.

Should Deila, then, start Griffiths if he can offer so much in so little time during an SPL clash? Many fans certainly think so - and made their feelings clear on Twitter after Sunday afternoon's 2-1 loss.
