Manchester United morning news: Vidic return update, blow over Diego Godin

A round up of news stories this morning about Manchester United.

Reports suggest Louis van Gaal isn’t interested in re-signing Nemanja Vidic for the club.

Vidic has been linked with a January return in a potential loan move.

However, the Mirror claims he’d prefer moves for Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels or Atletico Madrid’s Diego Godin.

However, Godin has played down the idea that he could leave Atletico, saying that he wants to stay in Spain for several years.

“At this point, I feel that I’m in the best time of my career and I still see my retirement very far. I would like to stay many years here [at Atletico Madrid],” said Godin.

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has explained he’s happy to be back at full fitness.

Carrick missed the first part of United’s season after picking up a problem in pre-season training.

“I feel good and I feel fresh. Obviously I missed a lot of football at the start of the season, but I’m enjoying it,” said Carrick.
