Leigh Griffiths enjoyed the perfect day yesterday, as reports circulated of a very charitable act from the Celtic forward - before he scored twice for the developmental side at Sunderland.
The 24-year-old first offered to buy a child a set of new video games for Christmas after they were victims of a burglary, a story that made it into several news outlets last night.
He then scored twice as Celtic's developmental side beat Sunderland 2-1, almost netting a hat-trick close to full-time.
“Heard about the story of your house getting broken into. What games did you want for the little man and il buy them for you," Griffiths wrote to the boy in question.
“It’s a hard time of year for people to lose stuff and I’d like to help.”
And the Celtic forward got a very grateful response from the child's father - despite him being a Hearts fan!
