Christian Benteke reacts to Thierry Henry comparisons - warning: strong language!

The Aston Villa striker thinks too highly of the Arsenal legend.

It's fair to say Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke is not overwhelmed by comparisons to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

Not because the Villa forward doesn't respect the Arsenal great - but because he just doesn't see it.

Henry recently retired after a highly successful career that saw him achieve most of his fame with the Gunners.

But the Aston Villa forward feels he isn't worthy of comparisons with the former Arsenal striker just yet.

“To say I am like Thierry Henry or almost like him is bulls**t," Benteke emphatically told the Daily Mirror.

“Now Thierry Henry has stopped, everyone is saying he is a good player and hopefully it will be the same for me. Sometimes I feel like I am old. I am still young but I don’t forget football goes fast.

“In 2014 I had some good news and bad news but hopefully the New Year is going to be something good and better.”

Aston Villa host Manchester United on Saturday afternoon, while Arsenal travel to Liverpool the following day.
