Akinfenwa can't wait to go 'toe to toe' with Jose Enrique

The Liverpool defender will have his work cut out if he comes up against Adebayo Akinfenwa in the FA Cup.

Imagine the sight of AFC Wimbledon striker Adebayo Akinfenwa coming straight at you. It'd probably scare you, wouldn't it?

The 32-year-old is widely recognised as football's strongest man but, despite his size, has been a prolific goalscorer over the last few years.

For the Liverpool defence, however, the prospect of squaring up with the titanic forward has become a reality, with the Reds drawn against AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup.

And, in preparation for the tie, Akinfenwa says he can't wait to go 'toe to toe' with Liverpool defender Jose Enrique.

When it comes to going toe to toe, of course, Enrique needs to be at the top of his game should he start the FA Cup clash and face the irrepressible Akinfenwa.

José Enrique 10 16

As Opta stats show, the Spaniard has one of the worst one-on-one records in the Liverpool side. Of the 26 times he has challenged someone with or for the ball, he has come off worse for wear on 16 occasions.

That won't be good enough against Wimbledon. Akinfenwa will be waiting.
