Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand’s plea to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger

Queens Park Rangers defender Rio Ferdinand believes that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger should give more chances to young players, and praises Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has urged Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to give more chances to young players.

The 36-year-old made the comment on social networking site Twitter just before the GunnersPremier League clash against Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium earlier this evening.

With Laurent Koscielny injured for the match, Wenger played right-back Mathieu Debuchy in central defence.

Ferdinand was not impressed with this decision of the Frenchman and urged him to use more academy products under such circumstances.

Arsenal eventually eased to a 4-1 victory at the Emirates, and one player in particular stood out for the Queens Park Rangers centre-back: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

England international attack Oxlade-Chamberlain had 85% pass accuracy, 2 shots, attempted six take-ons, won 40% of the tackles, made three interceptions and made one clearance for Arsenal against Newcastle.
