Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback has insisted that he and his teammates are not scared of any teams in the Premier League.
The Magpies are in a great run of form at the moment and got the better of Chelsea at home on Saturday.
Alan Pardew’s side gave a good account of themselves as they won 2-1 against the league leaders at St. James’ Park.
"I think we’ve shown that we’ve not really feared anyone,” Colback told The Shields Gazette. “We came out and gave them (Chelsea) the respect they deserve, but not too much respect.
"If you give them too much respect, they’ll pass it round and brush you away like they have done to many sides. We got amongst them, tackled and competed. We showed our quality going forward as well.”
Following this weekend’s round of matches in the Premier League, Newcastle are seventh in the standings with 23 points from 15 matches, level on points with Arsenal and two clear of Tottenham.
Newcastle are not expected by many to challenge for a top-four place as the season progresses, but their victory against Chelsea has certainly given them more confidence.
Arsenal and Tottenham have been warned.
