Josh Onomah reflects on FA Youth Cup win - lesson for Tottenham Hotspur’s senior side?

Tottenham Hotspur’s Josh Onomah has been reflecting on the side’s victory over Blackburn Rovers in the FA Youth Cup.

The youngster was on target for Spurs as they got the better of their opponents 4-1 on Monday to progress to the fourth round of the competition.

Midfielder Onomah has now highlighted a key factor in their triumph and is quoted as saying by Tottenham’s official website: “Our work ethic was great, we scored our first goal early and that was a good base that we built on from there.

“We played very well from the start and we kept the ball well up against a difficult side. We matched Blackburn physically and mentally and it paid off in the end.”

Onomah’s analysis of the match is something that Tottenham’s senior side should take into account. As the youngster points out, the key was working hard and scoring the early goal.

That is what Mauricio Pochettino’s team should be looking to do in their next game: score an early goal. If they can do that, then it is going to make the players more relaxed and ease the pressure slightly.
