Arsenal have flown to Turkey for their Champions League group game.
Arsenal have flown out to Turkey for their final Champions League clash of the group stages, to face Galatasaray.
The Gunners hammered their opponents 4-1 at The Emirates earlier in this years’ competition, with Danny Welbeck netting a hat-trick.
Arsenal have already sealed qualification, but are likely to go through to the next round in second place. To qualify as winners, they need Borussia Dortmund to slip up at home to Anderlecht.
This may seem unlikely, but considering the woeful domestic form of Jurgen Klopp’s team, it is also very plausible.
Arsene Wenger said he was going there determined to get a result, after the weekend’s loss to Stoke: “We’ll go with a strong team of course, we want to win the game.
“Since the start of this season we have played seven games in the Champions League, including the qualifiers, and we have won four. I would like to win five.”
Lukas Podolski posted a photo of himself on the plane with his teammates en route to Istanbul, and while his smile is almost ever-existent, he has reason to be in good mood.
The German is expected to be granted his first start in the competition this season, with his only other start at all coming in the Capital One Cup.
