QPR fans react on Twitter to 'insane' Richard Dunne display v Burnley

The 35-year-old centre-back was Queens Park Rangers' man of the match during the 2-0 Premier League win.

How must Rio Ferdinand feel right now?

The 36-year-old has been consigned to a place on the bench for QPR, only to be outshone by a man just one year younger than him in Richard Dunne.

Indeed, Dunne was fanstastic for QPR against Burnley yesterday - the R's' man of the match - and manager Harry Redknapp has been delighted with his form for some time.

"I thought Richard Dunne was fantastic, I thought his performance again, under pressure: he has been amazing," the QPR boss told reporters after the game.

"I can't tell you just how good he was. Every ball he stuck his head on, every time there was someone to boot it away it was Dunney. I thought he was amazing today again."

As Opta stats show, both Dunne and defensive partner Steven Caulker made the most clearances in the Premier League on Saturday, also winning multiple tackles and aerial duels, with Dunne winning seven interceptions, too.

That shows just how much pressure the 35-year-old, alongside Caulker, Rob Green and the QPR full-backs, were under. And they still kept a clean sheet.

Needless to say, R's fans were delighted with the defender's display against Burnley on Twitter after the 2-0 win!
