Respawn Entertainment, developers of the Microsoft exclusive Titanfall, have been confirmed to be in attendance at Sony's PlayStation Experience this weekend. But, why?
One of the panels during the event, the 'Greatness for Everyone' panel, will include the reps from Respawn Entertainment.
Speculation would suggest that the devs are there to make some kind of announcement, possibly about Titanfall 2? There has been talk earlier this year that the sequel to the mech-shooter would not be exclusive, and could span across multiple consoles, including Sony's.
However, industry insider - Shinobi - has denied claims the developers are there to announce anything at all. Shinobi has been the bearer of much accurate insider info over the years, so the chances are he's right.
EA, Titanfall's publishers, revealed this week that they're set to make an announcement at The Game Awards event tonight, leading to more speculation that it could be to do with Titanfall 2, or perhaps even Mass Effect 4. However, again, Shinobi has denied some claims, saying Mass Effect is not on the agenda.
This 'special announcement' could be any number of EA's games, however. They're working on Mirror's Edge 2, Star Wars: Battlefront, and Battlefield: Hardline, to name just a few.
Whatever the 'special announcement', or the reasons Respawn are in attendance this weekend, we're certain to find out over the next three days.
The PlayStation Experience kicks off tomorrow, 6th December and runs until 7th December in Las Vegas. And The Game Awards are happening tonight at 6pm PT (2am GMT 6th December), which you can watch via the event's website, or many other locations.
