David Ginola believes that Tottenham Hotspur can finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.
The North London outfit are currently seventh in the league standings with 20 points from 13 matches, just two points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
“This is the goal for the club, they want to be in the Champions League and Mauricio Pochettino knows exactly what he wants to do.”
Ginola has also underlined the importance of two under-performing stars, claiming that they need to step up their game.
“If Soldado gets on the scoresheet more often this season, I think it will change the whole thing. It is what Spurs need,” Ginola told talkSPORT.
“We need to see more of [Erik] Lamela, we need to see more of Soldado and, on top of that, we have got really interesting players who can have a fantastic input.”
Soldado and Lamela were both expensive signings made in the summer of 2013, and both were less than impressive last season.
However, there have been signs that things are improving for both the players.
While Spain international striker Soldado scored his first Premier League goal of the season against Everton on Sunday, Argentine attacker Lamela has shown flashes of his brilliance throughout the campaign so far.
Soldado’s goal has also pleased Tottenham teammate Federico Fazio, who told IBTimes UK: “Roberto is very happy for the goal but also because he did a great job both in attack and in the defence, pressing very hard during the whole game.
“He was not worried [about not scoring in the Premier League] because he was scoring goals in other competitions but this goal is important for his confidence after so long without scoring in the league."
Tottenham are back in Premier League action on Wednesday when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Now, that would be the perfect match for Soldado and Lamela to show their class...
