Predicted Arsenal and Southampton line-ups - Key injuries for both teams

Match to be played on Wednesday 3rd December 2014 at 19:45. Venue: Emirates Stadium, London.

Arsene Wenger will be hoping for an emphatic performance against Southampton to convince those fans who displayed a banner asking him to resign against West Brom, that he’s the right man to be leading the side forward.

Reports this morning suggested the Frenchman has a problem at left-back, with Kieran Gibbs suffering from a hip problem and Nacho Monreal suffering a knock to the knee against the Baggies, which makes him doubtful to start.

Reports suggest Mathieu Flamini is the man Wenger will ask to cover on the left hand side if neither player is available for the match.

As far as Southampton are concerned, they need to show they are far better than the team which lost 3-0 at the hands of champions Manchester City over the weekend.

The Saints were always going to be under pressure because of the impressive start they made to the Premier League season and this is a real chance for them to make a point if they have Champions League ambitions.

Arsenal: Martinez, Chambers, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Flamini, Ramsey, Cazorla, Sanchez, Welbeck, Giroud

Southampton: Forster, Clyne, Fonte, Alderweireld, Bertrand, Davis, Wanyama, Yoshida, Tadic, Pelle, Mane
