Michael Owen believes that Stoke City will score at Old Trafford, but backs Manchester United to win the Premier League clash.
Owen, a former United striker, predicts a win for Louis van Gaal, but he says that Stoke will breach David de Gea’s citadel.
“The Potters have lost their last eleven games at Old Trafford in all competitions and, despite the loss of Angel Di Maria through injury, Louis van Goal does seem to be getting United back on track after an indifferent start to the season,” the 34-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Stoke may easily have got a point at Anfield and I think they will find the back of David de Gea’s net midweek; that might not, however, be enough to prevent another home win.”
Owen’s prediction will be backed by many, and there is a distinct possibility that it will come true.
As good as United are in attack, Van Gaal’s side are still susceptible to conceding goals. True, the Manchester outfit did not let in any goal against Hull City on Saturday, but question marks still remain on their backline.
Stoke, who are currently just four points above the relegation zone, will fancy a point at Old Trafford, but winning against a fourth-placed United team is probably out of their reach.
