Former Tottenham chairman does not believe striker Emmanuel Adebayor is cursed.
Adebayor: Priceless excuse ever. Mummy put a curse on me.That's why I cant score. It's not that I am just a lazy git. pic.twitter.com/tthjs5GXmt— Lord Sugar (@Lord_Sugar) December 1, 2014
Emmanuel Adebayor offered a unique reason to his poor form last week, when he told how his mother put a recent curse on him after a family row.
The Togolese striker told a Ghanaian radio station: "How am I going to be in touch with my mum if my mum is the one telling everyone that my work will not go forward. They should stop talking, talking, they should stop doing juju on me – they should leave me alone."
Juju is a form of black magic, and a curse in some way would explain the Spurs vice-captain's woeful displays this season, scoring only twice and not since October.
Outspoken former Tottenham chairman Lord Sugar has hit out at his claims, branding the striker 'a lazy git', insisting via his Twitter feed that his recent comments are just an excuse.
Sugar has criticised Adebayor before and is clearly not impressed with the comments, which came after the forward criticised the White Hart Lane crowd last month for getting on the players' backs too easily. He has not started a game since.
