Sunderland fans react on Twitter to Vergini's performance against Chelsea

Sunderland held Chelsea to a 0-0 draw on Saturday but what did fans make of Santiago Vergini's performance?

Sunderland put in a superb team performance against Chelsea on Saturday evening, taking a well deserved point against the runaway Premier League leaders.

The way Chelsea have been playing many would have expected them to claim another three points at the Stadium of Light but instead the Black Cats were resolute and made their manager Gus Poyet proud.

One player who came in for considerable praise was Santiago Vergini, who could even have won the match for the hosts only to see his effort hit the bar.  He was fantastic throughout and played a huge part in a great result.

The Sunderland defender's passing accuracy of 81 per cent was impressive given the opponents he was facing while he also went on four dribbles, won four tackles and won 10 ground duels.
