Manchester United morning news: Van Gaal on midfield flop; Blind celebrates

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has been speaking about Brazilian midfielder Anderson.

The former FC Porto player has barely featured for the Dutchman since he took charge in the summer, and in quotes published by the Sunday People van Gaal revealed why.

“I cannot judge him but when he trains he trains at a good level,” the United boss said. “He’s not always fit, and that is more his problem now.

“I wouldn’t pick him yet because you have to be fit. Being fit to play is the smallest thing you can demand as a trainer.”

Anderson’s time at United looks to be nearing its end, but it seems the manager is willing to play him on occasions, provided he is at his best.

In other news, United’s summer signing Daley Blind has celebrated the club’s 3-0 win against Hull City on Twitter.

The Netherlands international sent a message to his teammates prior to the game and afterwards he wrote, “That’s how it’s done. And what a fantastic screamer,” in reaction to Robin van Persie’s goal.
