Liverpool morning news: ‘I wasn’t happy’ says Reds star; target move possible

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

Reported Liverpool target Fabian Delph could leave Aston Villa in January according to a report in the Birmingham Mail.

The England international will become a free agent in the summer if he does not sign a new deal at Villa Park and Liverpool are among the clubs to have been most heavily linked with a possible move.

The latest report claims Villa boss Paul Lambert is worried the club will be forced to sell in in early 2015 rather than lose him for nothing just a few months later.

Given the alleged interest in the player it will be interesting to see if Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers opts to make a move given the club’s current struggles.

In other news, Reds midfielder Lucas Leiva has been speaking as he looks to force his way back into Rodgers’ first-team plans.

In comments published by Sporting Life, the Brazilian said, “I am not happy – I wasn’t happy – but when I play you feel better and you feel you can help them team more.

“Sometimes things don’t work out the way you want, but I think my career has been like that at Liverpool and I will just keep going until my last day here.”
