Jan Vertonghen speaks about countrymen Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas

With Tottenham Hotspur preparing to face Everton on Sunday, a Spurs defender has been speaking about some of his countrymen.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen has been speaking ahead of Spurs’ Premier League match against Everton.

There is nothing between the two sides in the league and it will be interesting to see who recovers more effectively following their Europa League exploits.

The Tottenham centre-back will be coming up against some of his international teammates with Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas both set to feature for Everton and the Belgian star has praised both men.

“Lukaku is one of the best strikers in the Premier League,” Vertonghen told the club's official website, “he’s very difficult to play against, especially with the way Everton play.

“He’s their star man but also Mirallas is back and he’s important for them too. Those two link up very well.”

Tottenham’s European campaign has been impressive but their domestic form has fluctuated considerably and manager Mauricio Pochettino will be looking for more consistency in the matches ahead.

The same can be said of Martinez at Everton, who will not be happy with the way they started the campaign, although they have looked far brighter in recent weeks.

Whatever happens we are set for an exciting encounter between two sides with plenty of fire-power, even if Tottenham’s could do with a little fine-tuning.
