Former QPR midfielder Jermaine Jenas confirms he has left club but has not retired

The former England international is currently doing punditry work while he recovers from another knee injury.

This summer gone QPR allowed several players to leave the club at the end of their contract.

The likes of Stephane Mbia, Andy Johnson, Hogan Ephraim, Luke Young, Aaron Hughes, Angelo Balanta and Tom Hitchcock were all allowed to leave the club at the end of their respective contracts.

However there was confusion over the future of Jermaine Jenas. The former England international had suffered yet another serious injury in the Spring, ruling him out of action for the rest of the calendar year.

His deal expired at QPR in the summer but he was allowed to train with the club.

That has led to some confusion. Some believe he is still on the QPR books. Others, who have seen him doing plenty of punditry in recent weeks, even believe he has brought an early end to his career with retirement.

Jenas has now cleared things up on Twitter.

He has made it clear that he is no longer contracted to QPR but has not retired either - meaning he remains a potential free agent target for any interested parties.
