The top five players linked with signing for Arsenal this week

Arsenal have been linked with several top quality players over the past week.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was criticised for not adding certain players in key positions during the summer transfer market.

Recent reports have suggested he’s got around £20 million to spend in the winter market, as the club remain linked with some of the best players on a daily basis, with January drawing ever closer.

Here are five of the best players linked with Arsenal moves over the past week.

Iker Casillas (Real Madrid)

Casillas’ Real Madrid future seems to change on a seemingly weekly basis. Latest reports suggest he’s looking for a way out of the Bernabeu with Arsenal one of the Premier League sides linked with him, along with Liverpool.

Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa)

The Aston Villa captain has frequently been linked with a move to Arsenal in the last few weeks. He’d be a top quality and experienced defender for Arsene Wenger to bring in though there will definitely be competition from Manchester United.

Paulo Dybala (Palermo)

Reports suggest that Arsenal are already in advanced talks to sign £31 million rated Paulo Dybala from Palermo. He’s been described as the ‘next Sergio Aguero’ in the press with Wenger reportedly looking at ways to bolster his attack.

James McCarthy (Everton)

The Mirror reported that Arsenal were considering a move for £13 million rated James McCarthy. The midfielder has been fairly consistent for Roberto Martinez’ side though whether Arsene Wenger needs another central midfielder is extremely doubtful.

Gorka Zabarte (Real Madrid)

Sport Witness ran a report which suggested that the Real Madrid youngster was edging closer to an Arsenal move. Wenger has made a habit of snapping up the best teenage talent across Europe throughout his time at the club.
