Manchester United striker Robin van Persie had some special support last night.

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has received some criticism recently for his performances on the pitch. Some are suggesting that perhaps the Dutch striker is starting to get a bit over-the-hill.

Of course, he did not look that way when scoring a fantastic header for Holland at the World Cup. He flew through the air to score an incredible strike against Spain, as the Dutch went on to win 5-1 under future Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal.

It caused a sensation across the globe as well. Many people were posting on Facebook and Twitter their own impression of Van Persie's headed goal, #Persieing went viral.

The picture that got the most traction was of his opa, grandfather to me and you, doing it. The 93-year-old Wim Ras showing age is just a number by joining in the social media craze.

He became a mini celebrity for a couple of days in The Netherlands after the incident and last night he was in attendance as his grandson scored the opening goal in a 6-0 win.

One day he might even make the trip over to Manchester to watch his son at Old Trafford.
