Ubisoft's first new-gen addition to the Assassin's Creed franchise, with Assassin's Creed Unity, has reportedly been hit with some dire frame rate issues. Some users have been reporting frame rate drops which apparently make the game close to "unplayable."
If you're yet to buy the game, and want to see just what everyone's talking about, Digital Foundry have conducted some analysis themselves, which appears to show that the reports ring true, to some extent at least.
Surprisingly the analysis finds that the game actually runs worse on Sony's PS4, whilst the Xbox One fares better. Although, the Xbox One still struggles to keep a consistent 30fps itself.
Graphically the game certainly looks to deliver what most would expect from this generation of consoles, but if it doesn't let you play it at a reasonable pace, what's the point, eh?
Anyway, here's the PS4 and Xbox One frame rate comparison video.
Although some may see Unity as 'just another Assassin's Creed game', there was still the hope that it would show what the new-gen consoles could really do in terms of performance. However, these reports of poor frame rates, along with Digital Foundry's video above, appear to quash the hopes of the 'true next-gen experience' many are waiting for.
